Beneath the surface
A podcast by Elle Brunet
A deep-conversation podcast that goes beneath the surface of the hard, taboo stuff, so people leave feeling seen and less alone.
“You look fine. You're not. And somewhere beneath the "I'm good" of your very full, very capable life, something is asking to be said out loud.
This is that place.
This is not a wellness podcast. It's a grown-up, honest conversation about the parts of being human we're still taught to keep quiet about. Health. Mental health. Spirituality. Relationships. Money. Meaning. The things you carry that nobody around you knows about, because from the outside, you look completely fine.
Intimate and fireside. Real talk without clinical detachment. Depth without the drowning. Serious topics held with lightness, and just enough humor to make sure it never gets too heavy to breathe.
The conversations you're not having.
But need to…

Hi I’m Your host, Elle Brunet.
For most of my life, people told me some version of, “You hold it all together so well.”
In boardrooms and on sets, in partnerships and in pivots, I showed up capable, grounded, and clear. I built things. I led people. I made hard calls in high-stakes environments and I made them well. And through all of it, I was carrying things nobody around me knew about.
Mental health struggles that went unnamed for years. Trauma, I had learned to work around rather than through. The particular loneliness of being someone others lean on when you're quietly drowning beneath the surface of your own life. I got very good at the "I'm good." I had been practicing it my whole life.
What cracked me open wasn't a single moment. It was an accumulation. And what I found on the other side of that wasn't a tidier version of myself. It was a truer one.
I'm a strategist, an intuitive, and a deeply curious human who has spent decades studying what makes people tick, the visible patterns and the invisible ones. I've worked at the highest levels of business, and I've sat in the lowest moments of my own life. That combination is what I bring to every conversation on this show.
Beneath the Surface exists because I needed it to. Because the gap between how people appear and what they're actually carrying is one of the loneliest places there is. And because the conversations that changed my life were never the polished ones.
They were the real ones. Let's go deep.
